TCGM: bringing collectors and players together.

Over three months, we developed TCGM’s web platform leading to v1: a shared place for the Danish trading card community. We connected collectors and players with physical shops, online stores, events and Danish Rip & Ship live-shops. Business self-service supports the information behind the platform.

What we built

TCGM needed a shared platform for the Danish trading card community. We connected businesses, events and live-shops in a public platform, with account areas and publication controls to maintain the information behind the three overviews.

Physical shops and online stores

We built a shared business directory covering both physical shops and online stores. Profiles collect location, opening hours and website links, so collectors and players can find a place to visit or continue to an online shop.

Standalone events and in-store activities

We connected a shared event calendar with game and shop views. The structure accommodates standalone events as well as activities in individual shops, so visitors can explore both larger gatherings and local opportunities to play.

Danish Rip & Ship live-shops

We brought shop profiles, Twitch channels and observed live status together in a dedicated overview. Visitors can find Danish hosts and see which channels are live. The overview is distinct from the optional Shopify queue service for businesses.

3 months of development

Business accounts, team access and publication controls support the three public overviews.

  • Business accounts

Shops, online stores and events managed in one place.

  • Teams and roles

Invitations and access for owners, administrators and members.

  • Editing and approval

Businesses maintain information; TCGM controls publication.

Keeping the information current

Self-service lets businesses contribute to the platform. We designed the editing and publication flow to keep TCGM in control, while leaving clear responsibilities for the ongoing work.

Editing and publication are separate

We separated editing rights from public visibility. TCGM retains an approval step, so self-service does not mean that every change goes straight onto the website. The trade-off is an ongoing review task.

Shared data still needs an owner

The website and portal use a common data model. This connects editing with what visitors see, but opening hours, links and events still need maintaining. The platform supports that work; it does not replace ownership of the content.

The technology behind TCGM

Next.js and React provide the shared platform. Clerk handles login, while Workflow SDK connects background processes with Shopify and Twitch.

The community platform and account areas share components and data. Server rendering and caching support the directory, while React handles interactive views.

An order’s path through the integration

Optional Rip & Ship service · order synchronisation and chat announcements run separately

  1. Shopify

    Order integration

Validated order notifications feed the optional Rip & Ship queue. Repeat notifications are checked, and draft orders are reconciled with orders.

  2. Workflow SDK

    Automated background processes

Order events run as durable workflows with retryable steps. Order synchronisation and chat announcements run separately.

  3. Twitch

    Channels and live status

The additional queue service can match a purchase with a linked Twitch identity and announce the order in chat when enabled and the required access is available.

Twitch also supplies observed live status to the public directory.

Should your website and systems work together?

If customers need to find the right information while your team or partners maintain it, the starting point may be similar. We can help clarify the workflow and develop the website, account areas and connections it needs.

Tell us who will use the solution, what they need to do and which systems you already use. We review the inquiry after email confirmation and clarify whether the work is a fit before agreeing the scope.
